About us

Our Mission

We are active dog competitors who love training and spending time with our dogs. We actively train and compete in different dog sports and activities. We have helped many people create a stronger bond through obedience training and our reward-based system. Our dog trainers have obtained their core dog training skills by attending the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers. David, our head trainer, also works closely with our trainers to ensure quality of training and efficiency. We are continuously keeping our education and skills up to date by attending seminars, training workshops, competing with our dogs, refresher courses at the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers, and our daily training with our customers! We believe there is no better way to be the best, but to continue with education and training through helping our customers with their dogs’ daily problems.

I have had dogs my entire life growing up. When I was 10 years old, I got my first personal dog. She was a beautiful German Shepherd and I named her Carli. Sadly, by about 2 years old she had gotten extremely aggressive to the point that she had attacked numerous dogs, killed many chickens and was a nightmare to take anywhere. I decided I wanted to train her and rehabilitate and fix her aggression. I found a great dog trainer and started training with him. He had been training dogs for 35 years and also bred German Shepherds. After a few sessions with him, I saw great improvement in her aggression. I continued working with him and eventually I was able to compete with Carli in AKC Obedience and Confirmation. After training with Don for a few years I was able to help him train dogs for other people and grow my knowledge and experience. To say the least, I was hooked. In 2008 I started researching Protection Training and came across Michael Ellis. He is a highly sought after Protection Trainer that has done seminars all over the world. In 2012, I was able to enroll in the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers. This is the most prestigious dog training school in the country. I attended all of his courses (some courses I took numerous times) and started training for a protection sport called Mondioring.
Fast forward to the present. I have won 3 National Championships with two different dogs in two different Protection Sports as well as being the head decoy for another National Champion dog. In 2016, my dog Idole and I were Vice World Champions in Belgium at the highest level. This is the only time an American has placed this high at the World Championship for this level.
In 2019, I was selected to do the 2020 Mondioring National Championship as a decoy. I am one of the only Level 3 qualified decoys in America. I absolutely love training dogs and would love to help you find the perfect protection dog for you.
  • I am a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals
  • I am the President of the United States Mondioring Association and a top level decoy.
  • I am an Evaluator for the AKC Good Canine Citizen.

I started in 2008 eventually left active duty military to train full time. I have trained thousands of dogs, including a National Champion protection dog. I love how I am able to use my tactical and security experience to help implement protection dogs into an overall home defense plan. Dogs hear four times better and smell a thousand times better than humans, they’re loud, they have fangs and they don’t need power or fuel to operate. Unlike an alarm system they also provide comfort and companionship. What’s not to love?!

In my military and federal SWAT career I have done a lot of physical security details. I have developed and implemented an active shooter response plan for a military installation after the Ft. Hood shooting. I have run security details for visiting VIP’s and international dignitaries. Planned route reconnaissance, route clearing, convoy security, and personal protection details. I have utilized layers of protection including hardened fighting positions, QRF (quick response force), sniper overwatch, plain clothes and uniformed officers. I have done vulnerability assessments for everything from troops in the field to high rise commercial buildings with thousands of people working every day.

Our Facility

Where You Train is Just as Important as How You Train

Our facility is dedicated for training dogs. We have obstacles to build our dogs’ confidence. We train them here as well as at home and in public places. Our dogs are good with children and families, but are also trained to know when to intervene if the occasion needed it.
